Same Day Pay Driving & Delivery Jobs
1. DoorDash
DoorDash is one of the most popular and fastest-growing food delivery services right now. In fact, it holds nearly 60% of the delivery market share, meaning customers overwhelmingly choose to order from DoorDash.
Drivers earn $15-$25/hour, and DoorDash has a Fast Pay option for drivers who want to cash out for same day pay.
Normally, DoorDash pays you every week, which is still pretty good. But you can work and get paid daily using Fast Pay. There’s a $1.99 fee to use Fast Pay, but for drivers signed up for the free Dasher Direct debit card, Fast Pay is completely free.
The DoorDash drivers we've spoken to like being able to set their own hours, the highly flexible schedule, the easy-to-use delivery app, and instant access to their pay.
To sign up today and start driving for DoorDash, here are the requirements for drivers:
- Must be 18 years or older
- Have access to a car, scooter, or bicycle in some cities
- Valid driver’s license
- Auto insurance
- Social Security number if delivering in the U.S.
- Complete background check

DoorDash Disclaimer: Actual earnings may differ and depend on factors like number of deliveries completed, time of day, location, and expenses. Hourly pay is calculated using average Dasher payouts while on a delivery (from the time you accept an order until the time you drop it off) over a 90 day period and includes compensation from peak pay, tips, and other incentives.
2. Instacart
Instacart is a popular on-demand grocery delivery service, and shoppers earn anywhere between $10-$20/hour. Shoppers can pay $0.50 and use Instant Cash Out whenever they want for same day pay.
Instant Cash Out means if you earn $100 a day making deliveries, you can have that $100 instantly deposited in your linked bank account (minus the $0.50 fee). You need to have completed at least five deliveries and have a balance of at least $5 to get paid daily using the Instant Cash Out feature, and Instacart normally pays drivers weekly.
In early 2023, Instacart began rolling out its Scan & Pay feature, helping shoppers avoid long checkout lines so they can save time on orders.

3. Shipt
Shipt was founded in 2014 as an on-demand grocery delivery service, and it now reaches over 260 grocery stores nationwide. Shipt started as a membership-based platform, and while that’s still an option, you no longer need to be a member to order from Shipt. This opens it up to even more customers, meaning more work for Shipt shoppers!
You can expect to make between $10-$20/hour working for Shipt, and they recently launched a same day pay option that you can access once per day. Shipt doesn't charge for the service, but its payment processor, Stripe, charges a 1% processing fee.
Shipt is one of the best food delivery services to work for because it allows shoppers to accept and shop for more than one order at a time. It can be a more efficient use of your time to earn more money. Learn more in our updated Shipt Shopper Review.
4. Uber Eats
Owned by rideshare giant Uber, Uber Eats was launched in 2014 and is now available in over 6,000 cities across 45 countries. Uber Eats allows customers to order food from their favorite restaurants, and (in certain markets), from convenience stores and grocery stores.

Survey Junkie is one of the most reputable survey sites around, and while you won’t make a ton of money taking surveys online, it’s an incredibly easy way to make a little extra cash. What’s nice about Survey Junkie is that you only need to earn $5 in points to cash out, and you can redeem them via PayPal or gift cards.
Most surveys on Survey Junkie pay $1-$3, but you won’t be eligible for every survey you take. So while you could realistically earn that $5 in one day and get paid immediately, it won’t happen all of the time.

12. Run Facebook & Instagram Ads
Shortly after I quit my teaching job to run this blog full-time, I tried my hand at running Facebook ads for a local jewelry store. That first client led to another, then another, and pretty soon I was out-earning what I made as a high school band director. The coolest part was that I was only working 2-3 hours a week per client, and it was from home!
Running Facebook and Instagram ads is simply digital marketing through two of the world's largest social media platforms, which continue to be some of the best platforms for small business owners to reach new customers. It's a very exciting and rewarding business overall.
There's no previous marketing or advertising experience required — these are skills you can learn, and you can make around $1,000-$2,000 per client every month! Clients pay you on retainer the same day they sign your contract.

13. Etsy Seller
This is one of the best online jobs for creative people who want to do something a little different online. Etsy is the go-to online marketplace for all things creative, handmade, unique, or vintage.
You can sell everything from handmade furniture to jewelry, but one of the more lucrative niches is digital printables. Think planner pages, invitations, birthday cards, stickers, budget pages, calendars, cards, and more. The fantastic free ebook Seasonal Products Secret will give you inspiration for the types of products that sell best on Etsy throughout the year.
These are files that people can purchase, download, and print. You’re not holding onto inventory, spending time creating every single item, and you don’t have to ship anything out.
All of that saves time and money, and it’s why selling printables on Etsy is a somewhat passive online job.
14. Freelance Work
Freelancing is one of the fastest-growing ways to work, and there are now over 59 million freelancers in the U.S. It's a very exciting and rewarding business for many people. You get to set your rates, be your own boss, scale your business at your pace, work flexible schedules, earn money from home, and more.
Freelancing has become such a legitimate business, that many people earn $1,000/month or more freelancing on the side of their day jobs.
There are also tons of different freelance services you can offer in 2023, including:
- Freelance writing: Get paid to write articles, blog posts, web copy, emails, ebooks, course content, and more.
- Virtual assistant: This is when you help a business owner complete everyday tasks like answering emails, scheduling, billing, inbox management, social media management, etc.
- Transcription: Transcriptionists turn audio content into text format. Transcriptionists who have a legal or medical background earn more than average.
Since we’re talking about same day pay jobs, many freelancers get paid the day they finish the job. It all depends on the agreement you have with your client, so make sure you have things in writing first.
Side Hustles That Pay the Same Day or Weekly
15. Dog Walking & Pet Sitting
This is one of the best jobs that pays daily or weekly if you love pets. But come one, who doesn’t!?
Dog walkers earn $15-$25 per walk — this amount very much depends on where you live, and dog walkers in busy urban areas generally earn on the higher end. Pet sitters can earn $30-$50 per night on average.
Many dog walkers and pet sitters start their business using word of mouth, but you can also try listing your services on Rover. Rover is specifically designed to help pet owners connect with caregivers in their area.
There's a one-time fee of $35 to create a profile and list your services on Rover, and you're paid two days after successfully completing a service.

16. Babysitting
Babysitters average about $15 per hour, and you can get paid cash or Venmo the day you work. You’ll obviously need to enjoy spending time with kids, and having your CPR certification is a major plus for parents.
Word of mouth, advertising your services on social media, or creating a profile on a site like Care.com are all great ways to get started.
17. Flip Stuff for Sale
Flipping works well because people are willing to pay good money for things that many people consider junk. This is a great same-day pay job if you’re good at spotting bargains.
Melissa and Rob of Flea Market Flipper are experts, and they've made thousands of dollars flipping things like workout gear, home appliances, baby gear, and more.
You can learn more in their Flipper University Course.
18. Sell on Facebook Marketplace
One of the best jobs that pays daily is to sell stuff you have around your house. For example, say you have a mini-fridge you aren’t using like you thought, list it on Facebook Marketplace, and you may have someone at your house paying cash before the day is over.
This can be a really quick and easy way to make $100 today, especially if you’ve got some clutter to get rid of.
Workout equipment, on-trend clothing, baby gear, and home decor are a few of the best-selling categories. Make sure to accurately describe what you're selling and post plenty of pictures.
19. Cleaning Houses
One of the freelancers who works for me used to make $50+ an hour cleaning houses! She would get paid daily, and she had several repeat clients she cleaned for every single week.
Cleaning isn’t a fun job, but you can make $25/hour more when you start your own cleaning business. Like the last two jobs, word of mouth is one of the best ways to build your business, and use neighborhood apps to get started. Learn more in House Cleaning Jobs (Where to Find Them & How Much to Charge).
20. Gardening/Lawn Care
People pay good money to have the nicest looking yard on the block, and this can be an exciting and rewarding business if you like being outdoors. To make the most money possible, be prepared to offer services like:
- Mowing
- Weeding
- Edging
- Trimming bushes
The services above are more like temporary jobs, but offering snow shoveling, gutter cleaning, raking, and planting can keep your business running year around.
We recommend posting your services on NextDoor so people in your neighborhood can quickly get in touch.
21. Craigslist Gigs
Craigslist has gotten a little bit of a bad rap in the past few years, but you can still find legitimate same day pay gigs on Craigslist. Here are a few examples of some jobs we've found on Craigslist:
- Yard clean up paying $16/hour
- Moving help paying $20-$25/hour
- Medical research studies paying up to $1,000
22. Collecting Scrap Metal
Driving around collecting scrap metal, and then selling to a collection or recycling facility is a decent way to make a few hundreds in cash a month. It’s definitely not easy work — you’re digging through dumpsters, picking up heavy pieces of metal, and you need to know what you’re looking for.
However, collections sites do pay same-day cash. Like I said, you need to know what you’re looking for, so do your research in advance and check out how much different metals are currently selling for.
The Final Word About Same Day Pay Jobs
Being able to find legitimate jobs that pay the same day can be a massive help when you need to make money now. Delivering food for DoorDash is our top pick because it's so flexible, and you can earn $15-$25/hour.
It takes a week or two to start driving for either DoorDash or Instacart, so you might want to try selling stuff on Facebook Marketplace in the meantime if you really need fast cash.
Want even more ways to make money — we're talking $1,000+ a month — check out our list of Best Side Hustles for 2023.
