If you've been keeping track of my online income reports over the past 6 months or so, you probably already know that one of the many ways that I make money with this site is by providing blog coaching sessions!
I do really enjoy doing the coaching sessions, but I've found that it's one of the least efficient ways that I can actually make money from this site (I know…first world problems).
But, I am trying to streamline my business as much as possible, which is definitely something I would suggest for any of you who are pursuing side-hustles.
That's why I created the free M$M blogging course
A lot of the time, people are just looking for the basics and may not necessarily want to pay the $150-$500 per hour (depending on the work) that I charge for my time. Totally understandable IMO.
Another big thing for me is that I used to be a teacher, so part of me has a need to help people whenever I can. It's one of the main reasons I was crazy enough to quit my job and start this site!
If you are considering starting a blog, I highly recommend that you take my free blogging course. You'll get 8 days of lessons sent straight to your inbox, and I'll cover everything from growing your reach, finding your blogging “voice”, and of course…monetizing your blog (which is all people usually care about haha).
This is also great for all of you small business owners out there that know you need a blog on your business website, but aren't quite sure how to run it and make it a useful resource for your customers.
Here's an outline of the eight days in the free blogging course:
Day 1: Why blogging is right for you
Day 2: Finding your voice and message
Day 3: Setup and design
Day 4: Ways to grow your readership
Day 5: How you can actually make $$$ blogging
Day 6: Mastering social media
Day 7: Growing and maintaining an email list
*BONUS* Day 8: Early mistakes I made that you can avoid!
Go ahead and sign up for the course using the form above and enjoy! I really think you'll get a ton of value out of this. Also – it took me a really really long time to create so I'd appreciate if you took a look. 🙂
Once you finish the course, feel free to let me know what else you think I could add. My goal is to give the best, most relevant blogging and side hustle information that I can for M$M readers.

Consistency – both in frequency of posting, and in the quality of my writing. It takes a lot of time to produce 2-3 articles per week (my current goal), plus, I try to produce articles that are actually worth reading which is sometimes easy, and sometimes not. For me, at this point, consistent quality content is the hardest part. I signed up for your course, which I look forward to completing, and hopefully I can provide you with some useful feedback.
I also just changed the name of my site from Gentleman of Leisure to PedalsforPennies – that was hard, but an improvement I think.
Millennial Money Man
I think it’s an improvement too! The simpler the better – I love the name of my site but I know people have a hard time spelling millennial (so I had to buy every version I could think of AND genymoneyman.com).
2-3 articles per week is a great goal. I did two per week when I was still working my full-time job. Quality definitely beats quantity in my opinion.

2-3 posts a week leads to burnout in no time flat. The attrition rate for blogs is massive. Few last beyond a year. I would do one good post 3 times a month and 1 cheater post (interesting links). Than spend the rest of your time learning SEO (a massive steep learning curve)
PS your absolutely rigt millinials is a tough word to spell!

I love the new name!

I agree with finding your voice, especially when it comes to being in a certain niche like personal finance. I used to think that I didn’t have as much to offer, but since I’ve found my voice, I’ve realized I can help so many people like me! Now, where was this course when I needed it? Lol. Thanks for sharing!
Millennial Money Man
Haha yeah it took me a while to get around to it. I didn’t feel like I had all my email stuff set up well enough to really offer something like this until now!
Danielle @ The Pennies We Saved
For me, the hardest thing is knowing that is OK to start out with a basic blog. Theme isn’t what people look for, it’s the content. Your course was very valuable…thanks again!
Millennial Money Man
No problem Danielle! I think that’s a big one, and it’s really something I didn’t think about too much until I had this site redone. My traffic is much higher than it was before, but it’s really because I created content for a long time and it’s just more accessible now to readers.

For me it’s writing. I’m not a writer by nature, but I enjoy it. One of my reasons for starting my blog was to improve my writing. I don’t think I have necessarily found my voice yet, but I feel like I am getting close.
Millennial Money Man
I think if you just keep it conversational and closer to the way you actually talk it seems more natural to the reader.

Great job offering a cool course, M$M! I think blogging beginners will adore it. 🙂 I think the toughest part of blogging is finding time! I blog and have writing side hustles while holding down a full-time job. I have no idea how people juggle all of this with kids! Making time and finding motivation have been a challenge for me.
Millennial Money Man
Thanks! Yeah I hope they like it haha 🙂

Consistency and writing! I have a lot of drive and a lot to say, but staying consistent is tough and not everything translates correctly from thought to pencil (or keyboard). I can be a perfectionist, so when I find myself not achieving “perfectionism” I throw up my hands. Or not even start at all.
I will be checking out your course, thanks!
Millennial Money Man
Awesome! Yeah I wouldn’t worry about perfection other than spelling (which I still mess up often but have enough readers to help me out with that when they see it haha). Too perfect = too stale sometimes IMO.

As a former blog coaching client of yours, I am so glad you’ve launched this course. The info you gave me saved me from quite a few headaches of learning stuff on my own and I’ve had so many compliments on my site. And I’ve definitely made that money back 😉 Can’t wait to thank you in person at FinCon!
Millennial Money Man
Yeah!!!!!!! Love to hear that. We’ll definitely say hi at FinCon!

It’s a challenge to stay focused with so many other blogs out there. I find myself getting overwhelmed at their success and wondering how the heck there could be room for me, too. It’s hard to just physically find the time to devote the attention to my blog. I want to put quality writing into it and not just quickly throwing things out there. Lastly, I find it hard to know how to put a price tag on my site since it’s just writing that deals with social observations and living a quality life. Everyone and their brother has an e-book about life coaching and motivational quips, so doing that doesn’t feel authentic to me.
Millennial Money Man
I’ll be honest – I don’t read a ton of other blogs because of that! I try to just focus on what I want to talk about and what’s going on in my life, and it seems to work pretty well. Maybe take a break from looking at other sites for a little bit and see if that helps?

I’d say consistency and the technical part of website design and layout. For me this is big because I have a blog but I don’t know which webhost to choose and how I can convert the blog to a website. I’ve read some of your tips about backing up data and storage but it seems somewhat overwhelming.

For me it seems to be an off shoot of finding my voice… Lots of eclectic passions and struggling to narrow the focus, and ensuring in that narrowing I’m still excited to delve into the topic/s….
Millennial Money Man
Well I’d just narrow to what you’re MOST excited about. You can always add the other things later 🙂

After thinking it wasn’t for me, I’m now jumping in! I’m going to stay with my free blog (for now) as I get my feet wet and practice. I’m a SAHM and we’ve just decided that now that our kids are older traveling with them is a priority so . . . I think I’m going to start blogging about that.
Laura
I’m definitely going to be taking part in your course and am excited to hear about what you have to say. I’m interested in eventually going in to medicine and am working my way there. Because I seem to get so many questions about what I’m doing and how I’m getting there, I started my own blog which I began publishing last week. It’s theme is on medically-related topics and for now I’m planning to update it once a week. I know I don’t have very many people following it yet but am hoping it grows over time. It’s all for fun for now and I try to keep in mind that I’m writing for me first and foremost. Looking forward to your course! =)

Nice!

The hardest part for me was actually getting started – I toyed around with the idea for probably a good year before getting started. So far, I haven’t worried about making money, but writing down thoughts and goals has definitely SAVED me money 🙂

Just signed up! My blog is one month and a half old now and I’m very proud of it. My goal is also 2 quality blog posts a week, which is already quite a lot of work. The hardest for me is to get people to take action and subscribe. Guess I just have to keep going!
Millennial Money Man
You’ll love it!

The hardest thing for me is coming up with quality content. And, not finishing draft posts haha!

We’ve all been there!
