Let’s just go ahead and get this out in the open, this post is sponsored by Regions Bank. I know that might turn some of you off, but before you X off of the page, know this: I don’t do sponsored posts often.
It’s not that I have a problem with them or anything, but I always want to be sure that I really, really, really believe in them enough to put my name and brand on them
So, know that when Regions approached me about working with M$M to introduce their innovative new branches, I made sure to do my due diligence first. Seems fair, right?
Well, I did my research, talked to Regions a bit more, and I found out that I was genuinely excited about what they are doing and have to offer with the new branches they’re opening near me in Houston.
I’m talking serious technology, better customer service options, and just more ways to handle that cold hard cash you’re bringing in.
Now that I’ve primed you, this is what Regions has to offer:
Regions Bank is bringing in some amazing technology
I’m not exaggerating about that – Regions is actually doing some incredible stuff on the banking technology front.
And even though it’s 2020, there are still way too many banks out there who are relying on nearly antiquated systems for basic banking functions. We put a rover on Mars, people. We should expect more from our banks.
Fortunately, Regions has leveled up their game with advanced level technology that acknowledges the decade we’re living in.
Let me give you some specifics because I know “advanced level technology” isn’t enough.
Video Banking ATMs. Instead of waiting in a traditional teller line to handle most of your banking needs, these ATMs use live two-way video to let you connect with a Regions Video Banker to process most of your teller transactions. This cuts your time in line, while giving you a more personal touch when using the ATM. Beyond deposits and withdrawals, these innovative ATMs let you manage most account maintenance and general inquiries as well.
Facial recognition and fingerprint technology. If you don’t have a safe at home, or do and still want another place to keep your valuables, you need to know they are safe. Like, “ain’t nobody gonna grab my diamonds” safe. To give you the security you need, Regions has added extra layers of security and efficiency to their safe deposit boxes in the form of facial recognition and fingerprint technology. Bonus– if you’re known for losing keys, that’s a thing of the past!
Technology is great, but so is accessibility and ease of use
I love technology so much, but one of the problems I see from time to time is that when technology isn’t done well it overcomplicates even the simplest things. Technology should lead to a better user experience, not take away from it.
Knowing that advanced technology was one of Regions new branch features, I was then obviously a little concerned about how easy it would be to use things, and I’m a millennial (i.e. naturally good at technology).
But, they hit the mark.
All of those extras they’re adding in are just going to make it easier to get to your money and move it around.
Their new Video Banking ATMs offer more hours and services – great.
They have a new Deposit Smart ATM™ too, and that gives you all the normal ATM functions and the ability to cash and deposit checks any time of day or night – awesome.
Then there is the new Regions Virtual Concierge – super cool. I like it so much, that I’m going to give this its own section.
Regions Virtual Concierge
Here’s what’s kind of bugged me about banks up until now: if you had a question, you either had to go in to a branch and find someone or call and wait on the line forever.
I’m just too busy and impatient to deal with either of those options.
Again, we have a rover on Mars, and that technology means there should be more options.
Enter Regions Virtual Concierge Bankers.
Using email, chat, phone (if you like that sort of thing), even LinkedIn, you can connect with Regions’ experienced team to get answers and assistance on all sorts of things. They can help you with online banking all the way to short and long-term financial planning objectives.
This means more flexibility, more access, and will likely lead to a better understanding of what’s happening to your money overall – which should be every bank’s goal.
This is using technology well, so kudos Regions.
Get ready, there are a ton of new Regions branches opening up all over the greater Houston area
You heard me talk about how great it is to handle your banking stuff while not actually being at the bank, but there are going to be times when you need to go to branch to get things done.
Like, if I wanted to withdraw $1,000 but wanted it all in penny rolls, I’d need to do that in person.
That’s 2,000 rolls of pennies. Wow, that would be amazing. I’m not going to do this because my wife would kill me. But if you do this for any reason (and I’m not telling you to do it), please send me a video.
Okay, back to all of those new branches…
For Houston specifically, Regions is adding nine new branches by June of 2019. These will join the two newest locations in Houston that opened late last year. Don’t worry, each of these new branches will be equipped with all of the innovations I’ve already mentioned.
I honestly really appreciate that Regions is opening so many branches too, because if you’re thinking about switching to Regions, you know you’ll probably be able to find at least one of their 41 Houston area branches near you.
All in all, that’s more than 1400 Regions Bank (member FDIC) branches, and 1900 ATMs across the South, Midwest and Texas! Here’s a complete list of all of the new Regions branches that will enter the Houston market this year:
